Kathryn Lois (Hughes) Petrey

Kathryn Lois Petrey, 93 yrs, of Perryville, MD, passed away Sunday, December 24, 2017 in Franklin Square Hospice of Baltimore, MD. Born July 24, 1924 in Mahanoy City, PA, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Blanche Reese Hughes. Mrs. Petrey was a veteran of the U.S. Women’s Army Corps having served during WW II. She was formerly employed by the V.A. Medical Center of Perry Point, MD, in housekeeping. She loved to crochet Barbie doll clothes, collect Barbie dolls, do jigsaw puzzles and work in her yard. Mrs. Petrey is survived by her sons, Ronald Petrey of Perryville, MD, and Leonard Petrey of Forest Hill, MD; daughter, Lois Petrey of Perryville, MD; four grandchildren; seven great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Petrey was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond E. Petrey Jr. and sisters, Ruth Zernosky and Helen Humes. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Perryville United Methodist Church in care of Lee A. Patterson & Son Funeral Home, P.A., P.O. Box 766, Perryville, MD 21903-0766. Funeral services are scheduled for Thursday, January 4, 2018, 7 PM, at the Lee A. Patterson & Son Funeral Home, P.A., Perryville, MD. Visitation for family and friends will be held Thursday, January 4, 2018, 4 PM until 7 PM, at the funeral home prior to the funeral service. Care Pastor Jeff Owens of Mountain Christian Church of Joppa, MD, will officiate. Interment will be in Sky-View Memorial Park in Hometown, PA.
