Kimberly "Kim" Ann Brooks Flaharty, 65 years, of Elkton, MD, passed away Saturday, May 2, 2026 at her daughter’s home in Colora, MD. Born August 7, 1960 in Havre de Grace, MD, she was the daughter of the late William (Harley) and Jewell (Judy) Keys Brooks.
Kimberly was a graduate of Rising Sun High School, a member of the Ladies Auxiliary to the Community Fire Company of Rising Sun and was employed by the Dollar Tree of Elkton, MD, as Assistant Manager. She worked for Avon for many years, as well as Ikea. She enjoyed spending time with her kitties, family, and friends. She loved watching her Green Bay Packers play, her favorite soaps, and Hallmark, and having a girl’s night out.
Kimberly is survived by her daughters, Trisha Flaharty (Roger) and Stephanie Flaharty-Lucas (Mike); son, Derrick Flaharty (Katie); grandchildren, Christian M. Farris, Tripp A. Flaharty, Blaine M.P. Lucas, Cameron J. Hayden, Chase J. Hayden, and Camden B. Flaharty; brother, Richard W. Brooks, Sr.; sister, Kathy Brooks Albright; nephews, Richard “Richie” W. Brooks, Jr., and Christopher M. Brooks; and niece, Crysten N. Mahan.
In addition to her parents, Kimberly was preceded in death by her brother, Timothy N. Brooks.
Funeral services are scheduled for Tuesday, May 12, 2026, 11 AM, at the Lee A. Patterson & Son Funeral Home, P.A., of Perryville, MD. Visitation for family and friends will be held Monday, May 11, 2026, 6 PM until 8 PM, at the funeral home. Pastor Paul Cole of the Prince of Peace Baptist Church of Fallston, MD, will officiate. Interment will be in Harford Memorial Gardens, Aberdeen, MD.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions may be made to the Amedisys Hospice Foundation or the American Diabetes Association in care of Lee A. Patterson & Son Funeral Home, P.A., P.O. Box 766, Perryville, MD 21903-0766.
