Larry Homer Webb

Larry Homer Webb, 75, of Elkton, Maryland, passed away peacefully at home on September 25, 2026, surrounded by the love and presence of his family.

Born October 6, 1950, in Havre de Grace, Maryland, Larry was the son of the late Homer Webb and Edna Webb.

A hardworking man of great integrity, Larry believed in doing things the right way and taking care of the people who mattered to him. Following in the footsteps of his father, he spent many years as a self-employed mushroom farmer, continuing the family’s connection to the work until 1986.

Together with his first wife, Jean Sharer Webb, Larry built a family and raised three daughters. He worked hard to give his daughters a strong foundation and opportunities for their futures. He took great pride in the lives his daughters went on to build.

Larry later began a long career as an operating engineer with Vulcan, where he worked until his retirement. His years at Vulcan brought more than a career; they also brought many good friends whose friendships he valued throughout his life.

Larry was a people person through and through. He genuinely enjoyed meeting people, talking with them, and catching up with old friends. It seemed nearly impossible to go anywhere with him without running into someone he knew, and when he did, there was always time to stop and catch up. It was simply part of going anywhere with Larry, and a reflection of how many people he came to know over the course of his life.

In his later years, Larry shared a wonderful chapter of life with his wife, Judy, enjoying many years of traveling together, making memories, and simply enjoying life and one another.

More than anything, Larry’s life was defined by the people he loved. He was a devoted husband, father, Poppop, brother, and friend. He leaves behind a family deeply shaped by the years they were fortunate enough to share with him. His love, laughter, lessons, and the memories made together will continue to live on through his children, grandchildren, and the generations that follow.

Larry was a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church and was also affiliated with the Sons of the American Legion in Rising Sun.

Larry is survived by his wife, Judith “Judy” Cole; his daughters, Kimberly Baker and Jennifer Webb; his grandchildren, Zachary Baker, Joshua Baker, Neve Schulmeyer, Quinn Schulmeyer, Cyan McLaurin, and Azure McLaurin; his brother, Allen Webb; and his sisters, Joanne King and Jeannie Thomas.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Beth Webb; his first wife, Jean Sharer Webb; and his parents, Homer and Edna Webb.

Family and friends are invited to a visitation on Wednesday, September 30, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Lee A. Patterson & Son Funeral Home, P.A., in Perryville, Maryland.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 1, at the funeral home, with Pastor Dr. Harold Phillips of Pleasant View Baptist Church officiating. Following the service, a funeral procession will accompany Larry to West Nottingham Cemetery, where he will be laid to rest.

Following the burial, family and friends are invited to gather for a time of fellowship and remembrance at American Legion Post 194 in Rising Sun.
