Leroy Wendell Bailey, “Lee”, 52, of Port Deposit, MD, died Saturday, October 15, 2011, in Winchester, VA.
Lee Was born on June 1st, in the year of our Lord, 1959, in Charleston, SC, son of Leroy Benton and the late Jayne Bailey. He was an avid outdoors man who enjoyed fishing, camping, boating and riding his motorcycle. Lee was a proud member of the First Maryland Artillery, “Snow’s Battery”. He enjoyed traveling to participate in Civil War era reenactments where he assisted in firing the cannon. Lee was a retired Autobody Engineer with White’s Auto in Rising Sun, MD.
Lee is survived by his wife of 33 years, Lillie Mae Pierce Bailey; three children, Derrick Bailey and wife, Torrie, of Charlestown, MD, Danielle Bailey of Port Deposit, MD, and Andrea Bailey Walz of Charlestown, MD; grandchildren, Brady, Reagan and Alayna Bailey, Kaylee and Olivia Leonard, and unborn grandson, Edward Issac Walz; several nieces and nephews.
Lee was preceded in death by his mother, Jayne Bailey; sister, Pamela Bailey; brother, Mark Benton; and father-in-law, Edward Pierce.
Funeral services are scheduled for Sunday, October 23, 2011, 3 PM, at the Lee A. Patterson & Son Funeral Home, P.A., Perryville, MD. Visitation for family and friends will be held Sunday, October 23, 2011, 1 - 3 PM, at the funeral home prior to the funeral service. Pastor Daryl Jones will officiate. Interment will be private.
Lee will be greatly missed by friends and family, especially Woody, Tom and Lou. Following the service, friends and family are invited to gather in Colora, MD, in celebration of Lee’s life.
