Linda Sue Sewell Holder

Linda Sue Sewell Holder, 69, of Port Deposit, Maryland, passed away peacefully Friday, April 17, 2026 surrounded by her loving family and her devoted husband at her bedside in her home.

Born June 25, 1956 in Elkton, Maryland, Linda was the youngest of four children born to Tom and Flossie Pennington of Ashe County, North Carolina. She was preceded in death by her three brothers: Herman Pennington, Reeves “Edie” Pennington, and Harold Pennington.

Linda was first married for 40 years to Grafton A. Sewell, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by one of her three sons, Ronald T. Sewell, at the age of 32.

She is survived by her husband of 10 years, Tony R. Holder of Port Deposit. From her first marriage, she is survived by her two sons and their spouses: Robert A. Sewell, Sr. (Debbie) of Conowingo and Michael D. Sewell (Katie) of Port Deposit. She leaves behind four beloved grandchildren: Robert A. Sewell, Jr. (Jessica), Kristain M. Sewell (Tyler), Tyler D. Sewell (Jillian), and Hailey A. Sewell Stoll (Tucker), as well as three cherished great-grandchildren: Ella, Avery, and Gunner.

Linda dedicated two decades of her working life to Cecil College and another ten years to the MRDC Head State Program, where she touched the lives of many through her service and care.

She found great joy in simple pleasures-vacationing in the beautiful Smoky Mountains, spending cherished time with her grandchildren, and, most of all, being with her husband, Tony, who cared for her with deep devotion every day.

Linda will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose greatest happiness came from her family and Faith in her Lord. Her warm presence and the love she shared will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, April 25, 2026, 11 AM, at the Lee A. Patterson & Son Funeral Home, P.A., of Perryville, MD. Visitation for family and friends will be held Friday, April 24, 2026, 7 PM until 9 PM, at the funeral home. Rev. Willie Walton of the River City Baptist Church of Port Deposit, MD, will officiate. Interment will be in Hopewell Cemetery, Port Deposit, MD.
