Lowell Douglas (Dougie) White

Lowell “Dougie” Douglas White, Jr., 31, of Colora, MD, passed away on Tuesday, December 21, 2021. Born in Baltimore, MD, on August 26, 1990, he was the son of Lowell Douglas White, Sr., of Colora, MD, and Cathie Jones White of Rising Sun, MD.

Dougie attended Bennington College after graduating from Rising Sun High School where his musical talents and ability to make others laugh earned him the title of “Mr. Rising Sun.” After college, he worked in several different fields. He was employed by Bolton Hill Nursery School, Van Houten Gardens, and CDS Analytical.

Dougie had a tender heart and never held back expressing his love to others. He had a gift for working with young children and elderly, always being the favorite in the room with his many little cousins. Dougie had a passion for nature, and could name every plant he saw along with every fact about it. His extensive knowledge of plants also extended to history, music, and most other topics. He will always be remembered for his ability to love well and make everyone laugh with his witty sense of humor.

In addition to his parents, Dougie is survived by his sister, Callie White of Colora, MD, and paternal grandparents, Lowell and Pauline White of Colora, MD. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Calvin Clay Jones and Carol Virginia (Belcher) Jones.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Leeds Elementary School, Dougie White Memorial Fund, in care of Lee A. Patterson & Son Funeral Home, P.A., P.O. Box 766, Perryville, MD 21903-0766.

Funeral services are scheduled for Tuesday, January 25, 2022, 1 PM, at the Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church, 1713 Liberty Grove Rd, Colora, MD. Visitation for family and friends will be held Tuesday, January 25, 2022, 11 AM until 1 PM, at the church prior to the funeral service.  Interment will be in the Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church Cemetery, Colora, MD.
