Marlene Helen Young

Marlene Helen Young, 62 yrs, of Rising Sun, MD, passed away on Tuesday, June 17, 2014 after a 20 month battle with cancer. Born July 11, 1951 in Baltimore, MD, she was the daughter of the late Frank J. and Josephine M. Drozd Vanik. Marlene is survived by her loving husband, Earl Young; daughters, Andrea Lopez and Amanda Lewis, sons-in-law, Victor Lopez and Eric Lewis; grandsons, Alexander Brown, Aramis and Augustine Lopez; granddaughter, Julianna Marlena Lewis; adoptive son, Steven Brown and his wife, Rebecca Russell. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the University of Maryland Medical Center in care of Martha Francis, AOCNP, Dept. of Radiation Oncology, 22 South Greene Street, GGJ80, Baltimore, MD 21201. Funeral services are scheduled for Monday, June 23, 2014, 10 AM, at the Lee A. Patterson & Son Funeral Home, P.A., Perryville, MD.  Visitation for family and friends will be held Sunday, June 22, 2014, 6 PM until 8 PM, at the funeral home. Deacon William Mitchell of the Harmony Missionary Baptist Church, Bel Air, MD, will officiate. Interment will be in West Nottingham Cemetery, Colora, MD. Arrangements by Lee A.
