Martin Diego Gonzalez, a resident of Perryville, died peacefully on Thursday morning, December 7, in Elkton, after an illness of several months. He was born to Juan Gonzalez and Francisca Pumarejo in Moca, Puerto Rico, on December 12, 1928.
Mr. Gonzalez served in the United States Army from 1951 to 1953. He lived in New York City and worked in photography for most of his life. He won a number of awards and continued to take and edit photos in his retirement.
He is survived by his beloved wife of sixty-three years, the former Cynthia Dye, his sisters, Luz Maria Ruiz, Isabel Mas, and Selida Ruiz, and his daughters, Denise Mari and Lillian Gonzalez. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at Good Shepherd Church in Perryville at 10 am on Tuesday, December 12. Interment will follow in Bel Air Memorial Gardens.
