Mary Jo Reece

Mary Jo Reece, 96 years, of Bear, DE, formerly of Perryville, MD, passed away Thursday, February 6, 2025 in the Sunrise Assisted Living facility of Wilmington, DE. Born December 10, 1928 in Richwood, WVA, she was the daughter of the late Shirley Evans and Alta Muriel Taylor.

Mrs. Reece was a member of the Rising Sun Church of the Nazarene of Colora, MD. She was formerly employed by the V.A. Medical Center of Perry Point, MD, as a nurse’s aide.

Mrs. Reece is survived by her son, Clark Kneuker and his wife, Marie; step-sons, Jack Reece and Robert Reece; seven grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and brother, Franklin Evans.

Mrs. Reece was preceded in death by her husband, John Henry Reece; brother, Bill Evans; sisters, Ruth McGrady, Betty Cornett, and Ruby Chambers.

Funeral services are scheduled for Monday, February 10, 2025, 1 PM, at the Lee A. Patterson & Son Funeral Home, P.A., of Perryville, MD. Visitation for family and friends will be held Monday, February 10, 2025, 12 Noon until 1 PM, at the funeral home prior to the funeral service. Pastor Melanie Longacre of the Rising Sun Church of the Nazarene will officiate. Interment will be in West Nottingham, Colora, MD.
