Melvin R. Mccardell, Jr.

Melvin R. McCardell, Jr., 81yrs, of Rising Sun, MD, died Thursday, December 20, 2012 in Harford Memorial Hospital, Havre de Grace, MD.  Born April 21, 1931 in Maryland, he was the son of the late Melvin R., Sr. and Helen M. Banks McCardell. Bob is retired from the Cecil County Department of Corrections where he was employed in maintenance. He is survived by his sons, Melvin R. McCardell, III and wife, Jean, Tye, TX, Gregory B. McCardell and wife, Jeryl, Port Deposit, MD, Dennis W. McCardell, Rising Sun, MD, Scott A. McCardell and wife, Donna, Conowingo, MD; 14 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; sisters, Marion M. Fox, Perryville, MD and Janet M. Cole, Rising Sun, MD. In addition to his parents, Melvin was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy McGlothlin McCardell; daughter, Helen M. Cullen; and son, Brian T. McCardell. All services will be private.
