Michael Jay Jones

Michael Jay Jones, age 66 years, of Perryville, MD, passed away Monday, February 10, 2025, peacefully at home. Born April 9, 1958, in the Harford Memorial Hospital of Havre de Grace, MD. Michael was preceded in death by his wife, Kimberly Ann Jones, and his parents, Roy John Jones and Jean Creswell Jones.

Michael was a lifetime member of the Community Fire Company of Perryville, MD, and a member of the American Legion SAL of Perryville, MD. Michael retired from Amtrak. He was the life of the party and always lived his life to the fullest, whether he was cracking open a cold one on the pool deck or at Post 135, telling you to “turn it up some,” and dancing/singing away like no one was watching, but he always made sure he told you what the Lord knows.

Michael is survived by his daughters, Jean Elizebeth Jones, Heather Nichole Jones; 4 grandchildren, Lorenzo Leviaz Deer, Serenity Sky Swift, Madison Lee Ann Swift, Kanan Michael Lee Swift; brother, John Allan Jones and his wife, Karen Ann Jones, along with their children, Brian Robert Jones and Jennifer Jean Jones; and sister, Carla Jean Jones. He is also survived by his loving, beautiful companion, Michele Vanderwiele, and her children, among many other beloved family members and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggest memorial contributions be made to the Community Fire Company of Perryville, MD, or the American Legion Post No. 135 SAL.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Community Fire Company of Perryville, MD, at a later date.
