Mildred E. (Grover) Wheeler

Mildred E. Wheeler of Havre de Grace, MD, died peacefully at her home on 13 December 2013. She was 88 years old. Born 5 October 1925 in Union Center, NY, she was the daughter of the late Henry T. and Lucy A. Jones Grover. Mrs. Wheeler is survived by her son, Carl R. Wheeler II and wife, Tammy, of Perryville, MD; daughter, Patricia J. Wardell and husband, John, of Havre de Grace, MD; grandson, Randolph L. Wheeler and wife, Susan, of Havre de Grace, MD; granddaughter, Christina L. Warholic and husband, George, of Clearfield, PA; grandson, Christopher J. Warhawk of Colorado; great grandchildren, Kyle and Noah Wheeler; Christiana Wardel-Sykes; Katlyn, Brian and David Newsome; Caden and London Warhawk. Mrs. Wheeler enjoyed many wonderful years with her husband at their trailer at the shore fishing, bowling and attending baseball events. In her later years she joined Young at Heart and became acquainted with shooting pool and enjoyed a good hand of cards. Mrs. Wheeler (Miss Millie to her friends) enjoyed her life to the fullest and during her last years wrote her biography. When asked why she wrote about her life she replied, "life has changed so much from the time I grew up and I felt it was important that this generation know about our generation and how we lived". Thank you, mom. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Wheeler was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Carl R. Wheeler; and granddaughter, Monika C. Wardell-Sykes. Funeral services are scheduled for Wednesday, December 18, 2013, 12 Noon, at the Lee A. Patterson & Son Funeral Home, P.A., Perryville, MD.  Visitation for family and friends will be held Wednesday, December 18, 2013, 10 AM until 12 Noon, at the funeral home prior to the funeral service. Pastor Norman Obenshain of Havre de Grace United Methodist Church, Havre de Grace, MD, will officiate. Interment will be in Hopewell Cemetery, Port Deposit, MD. Arrangements by Lee A.
