Nancy Carroll (Thomas) Barr

Nancy Carroll Barr, 88 years, of Perryville, MD, passed away Tuesday, April 15, 2025 in the University of Maryland Upper Chesapeake Medical Center of Bel Air, MD. Born February 9, 1937 in Port Deposit, MD, she was the daughter of the late John “Buddy” Carroll and Sara Rebecca Simpers Thomas.

Nancy was a member of the Perryville United Methodist Church, the Red Hat Society, and a life member of the Ladies Auxiliary to the Susquehanna American Legion Post No. 135 of Perryville, MD. Nancy had many friends and family whom she loved very much. She also loved playing bingo and dining out

Nancy is survived by her grandchildren, Joseph Barr (Daniele Albanese), Tara Barr (Robert Adams), Tory Barr (Terry Frazier), Brandon Shackelford, Rachel Shackelford, and Matthew Shackelford (Amanda Fratrik); 20 great grandchildren; brother, Charles Thomas; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Ellsworth Barr; son, Danny L. Barr; daughter, Kimberly Ann Barr; brothers, John Leroy Thomas, Wilton “Butch” Thomas, and Claude Thomas.

Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, April 25, 2025, 11 AM, at the Lee A. Patterson & Son Funeral Home, P.A., of Perryville, MD. Visitation for family and friends will be held Friday, April 25, 2025, 9 AM until 11 AM, at the funeral home prior to the funeral service. Pastor Michael A. Caldwell of the Asbury Methodist Church of Port Deposit, MD, will officiate. Interment will be in Hopewell Cemetery, Perryville, MD.
