Noel J. Delaune, age 96, of Havre de Grace, MD, passed away August 14, 2017. Born in Napoleonville, LA, he was the son of James and Noelie (Melancon) Delaune.
A veteran of the U.S. Navy, he served our country in World War II and the Korean conflict. He retired from the Navy in 1963, then continued government service working first for the Navy at the Bainbridge Naval Training Center and then the Army at the Edgewood Arsenal as a HVAC mechanic until his retirement in 1983.
Mr. Delaune is survived by his daughters, Jackie Burke and her husband David of Bel Air, MD, Donna Thompson of Darlington, MD; son, William (Bill) Delaune of San Diego, CA; grandchildren, Kelly Scott of Street, MD, Kenny Miller and his wife Michelle of Bel Air, MD, Brina Delaune of Carlsbad, CA, Ali Delaune of San Diego, CA, Cheryl Wolf and her husband Joel of Beaumont, TX and Lee Ann Cooke and her husband Dennis of Florida; and seven great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Pauline B. Delaune, a daughter Beverly Delaune Lownie and 4 brothers and 4 sisters.
He was a devout Catholic, a member of St. Patricks Church of Havre de Grace, MD, for more than 50 years.
A viewing and private service was held August 18, 2017, at the Lee A. Patterson & Son Funeral Home, P.A., of Perryville, MD.
