Odessa Mae (Poffenbarger) Hawley

Odessa Mae Hawley, 92 years, of Perryville, MD, passed away Wednesday, January 3, 2018, in Laurelwood Care Center of Elkton, MD. Born August 19, 1925 in Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Jesse L. and Martha Schartner Poffenbarger. Mrs. Hawley taught Sunday School at the Five Rivers Assembly of God Church of Elkton, MD, for 35 years. She was formerly employed as a typist by Glen L. Martin of Baltimore, MD. Mrs. Hawley is survived by her brother, Roger Poffenbarger of Elkton, MD; and several nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Five Rivers Assembly of God Church of Elkton, MD, or New Life Faith Center Church of Rising Sun, MD, in care of Lee A. Patterson & Son Funeral Home, P.A., P.O. Box 766, Perryville, MD 21903-0766. Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, January 12, 2018, 1 PM, at the Lee A. Patterson & Son Funeral Home, P.A., Perryville, MD. Visitation for family and friends will be held Friday, January 12, 2018, 11 AM until 1 PM, at the funeral home prior to the funeral service. Pastor Larry Johnson of the New Life Faith Center Church of Rising Sun, MD, will officiate. Interment will be in Deer Creek Harmony Church Cemetery, Darlington, MD.
