Patricia Ann (Overmiller) Mahan

Patricia Ann Mahan, 86, of Havre de Grace, Maryland passed away peacefully on August 29th, 2022. She was born to the late Russell L. Overmiller and Carrie Albright Overmiller on February 1, 1936.

She was the devoted mother of Keith Mahan (Victoria), Robin Mahan, and Kevin Mahan (Jaimi). Loving Grandmother to Brandalynne, Taylor (Jack) and Tala; and Great-grandmother to Emerson, Alea, Kyra, Harlow, Bentley, Journey and Kinsley.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandson, Kevin S. Mahan, Jr; husband of fifty-one years, Alvin Leroy Mahan; great-granddaughter, Amiya Rene Miller; and siblings, Norman Overmiller, Robert Overmiller, Pauline Loomis, and Kenneth Overmiller.

Pat graduated from Elkton High School and went on to earn her degree in computer programming. She worked as a System Analyst in TECOM at Aberdeen Proving Ground and enjoyed traveling for work to experience new places and meet new people. She retired in 1994 to care for her grandson.

After retirement, she was a dedicated volunteer at Upper Chesapeake Hospital.  She delighted in spending time with her grandchildren, camping with her family, crafting and sewing, and mastered the lost art of caning chairs. She spent many evenings playing cards with her loved ones.

Pat was a longtime member of Hopewell Methodist Church, serving as the treasurer for many years and very active in the choir. She taught Sunday School and loved to serve on mission trips.

Stopping by her house unannounced, you could often find her mowing her grass, tending to her flowers, or cultivating her garden. She was incredibly active and there was rarely a time she was sitting still.

She was an unfailing friend, mother, and grandmother. She will be missed deeply and remembered always.

Visitation for family and friends will be on Saturday, September 10, 2022 at Hopewell United Methodist Church from 10AM to 11AM, with the funeral service immediately afterwards. Rev. Dr. Lynne Humphries-Russ will officiate. Interment at Rock Run Cemetery to follow.
