Ralph Carroll Vanpelt

Ralph Carroll VanPelt, 86 yrs, of Perryville, MD, died Monday, September 5, 2011, in Harford Memorial Hospital, Havre de Grace, MD.  Born December 11, 1924, in Perryville, MD, he was a son of the late Ralph J. and Hazel E. Lynch VanPelt. Mr. VanPelt was formerly employed by Aberdeen Proving Ground, Edgewood, MD, in range control. He was a past Grand Tall Cedar of the Tall Cedars of Lebanon, HAR-CE Forest No. 142 of Havre de Grace, MD, a 50 year member of the Susquehanna Masonic Lodge No. 130 AF/AM of Havre de Grace, MD, a member of the Susquehanna American Legion Post No. 135, Perryville, MD, and a former member of the Perryville Volunteer Fire Company, Perryville, MD, and the Charlestown Volunteer Fire Company, Charlestown, MD. Mr. VanPelt is survived by his daughters, Joyce C. Sprouse, Havre de Grace, MD, and Robbin Lynn VanPelt, Perryville, MD; two grandchildren, Lorraine M. Vass, Elkton, MD, and James E. Sprouse, III, Aberdeen, MD; five great grandchildren, Taylor Anne N. Vass, William H. Vass, V, Alexis M. Sprouse, Riley J. Sprouse and Mia Ava MaeSimmons; sisters, Doris E. Calao, Perryville, MD, and Shirley M. Miller, Alexandria, VA. In addition to his parents, Mr. VanPelt was preceded in death by his wife, Elaine White VanPelt. Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, September 9, 2011, 11 AM, at the Lee A. Patterson & Son Funeral Home, P.A., Perryville, MD. Visitation for family and friends will be held Thursday, September 8, 2011, 7 PM - 9 PM, at the funeral home.  Interment will be in Darlington Cemetery, Darlington, MD. Arrangements by Lee A.
