Ray John Benjamin

Ray John Benjamin, 79 years, of Conowingo, MD, passed away Saturday, May 28, 2022 at home. Born February 27, 1943 in Havre de Grace, MD, he was the son of the late Alfred Allen, Sr. and Ruth Hester Benjamin.

Ray was a member of the Operating Engineers Union Local No. 37 of Baltimore, MD, and was formerly employed by the Union Local No. 37 as a heavy equipment operator.

Ray is survived by his daughters, Alicia Smith, Karen Barrett, and Celena Kinder; 8 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and sister, Elizabeth Benjamin Hughes.

In addition to his parents, Ray was preceded in death by his grandson, Tommy Barrett, and his brother, Alfred Allen Benjamin, Jr.

Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, June 3, 2022, 12 Noon, at the Lee A. Patterson & Son Funeral Home, P.A., of Perryville, MD. Visitation for family and friends will be held Friday, June 3, 2022, 11 AM until 12 Noon, at the funeral home prior to the funeral service. Rev. David Burke of the Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church of Colora, MD, will officiate. Interment will be in Hopewell Cemetery, Port Deposit, MD.
