Richard Leroy Biggers

Richard Leroy Biggers, 65 yrs, of Elkton, MD, died Friday, July 19, 2013 at his residence.  Born March 21, 1948 in Elkton, MD, he was the son of Mildred Jane Kennard Biggers and the late Leroy Benjamin Biggers. Richard was a veteran of the U.S. Army 101st Airborne Rangers from 1965 until 1969. He was awarded the National Defense Service medal and Marksman M14 medal. Richard was formerly employed as an officer by the Cecilton and Havre de Grace Police Departments, as an Advisor and Recruiter for Job Corps, as a Supervisor of Public Works by the Town of Perryville, and as a job coach/driver for Bayside Community Network. Richard owned and enjoyed hot rod cars. Richard was a member of Life Song Christian Church of Elkton, MD, and is survived by his wife, Marcia Lynn Hornbarger Biggers of Elkton, MD; sons, Travis Jason Biggers and Trevor Justin Biggers, both of Elkton, MD; brother, Michael Biggers; sisters, Diane Burlson and Donna Owens. In addition to his father, Richard was preceded in death by his brother, Douglas Biggers. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Lee A. Patterson & Son Funeral Home, P.A., P.O. Box 766, Perryville, MD  21903-0766. Funeral services are scheduled for Tuesday, July 23, 2013, 12 Noon, at the Lee A. Patterson & Son Funeral Home, P.A., Perryville, MD. Visitation for family and friends will be held Tuesday, July 23, 2013, 10 AM until 12 Noon, at the funeral home prior to the funeral service.  Pastor Chris Engelberth of Life Song Christian Church of Elkton, MD, will officiate.
