Mr. Richard Keith Labhart, better known to all his friends as “Sam”, peacefully passed away in Port Deposit on Monday, October 17, 2016.
Sam is survived by his sons, Richard “Rick” Labhart and wife, Tiffany, of Port Deposit and Steven and wife, Amy Belmont, of Danville, AL; his former wife, Bonnie Belmont Labhart Anderson, of Port Deposit; brothers, Harry Labhart and wife, Julietta, of Gordo, AL, and Ronald Labhart and wife, Maribel, of Havre de Grace; sisters, Kathy Graybeal of Havre de Grace and Mary Anne Barker of Baltimore; step-mother, Billie Labhart of Aberdeen; four grandchildren; one great grandchild; and many cousins.
Sam was predeceased by his parents, Harry and Jean Whitaker Labhart; sister, Kelly Labhart Haines; and uncle, Delmar “Bud” Whitaker.
Sam was born in Havre de Grace on July 25, 1953 where he lived and worked throughout his life as a carpet and flooring installer. Sam was a happy-go-lucky guy who was always “the life of the party” and who lived his life to the fullest. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting deer and upland game as well as Canada geese. He was an excellent fisherman and spent much time boating, fishing and dipping white perch on the Susquehanna River. Earlier in his life he spent time scuba diving with dad. Sam was devoted to his beagle hunting dogs and they were likewise devoted to him.

A visitation is scheduled for Saturday, October 22, 2016, 2 PM until 3 PM, at the Lee A. Patterson & Son Funeral Home, P.A., Perryville, MD, prior to the funeral service beginning at 3 PM. Following the funeral service, friends and relatives are invited to Rick Labhart’s residence at 201 Funk Road, Port Deposit, MD, for an informal celebration of Sam’s life.
