Rita Esther (Jackson) Zimmerman

Rita E. Zimmerman, age 74, of Perryville, MD passed away March 7, 2025 at Citizens Care and Rehabilitation Center in Havre De Grace, MD with her daughter by her side. She was born September 25, 1950 in Havre De Grace, MD. She was the daughter of the late Arthur E. Jackson and the late Reba A. Burlin. She was the wife of the late Alfred B. Zimmerman.

Rita worked as a Medicare Biller for several years before retiring in 2015. Once retired, she spent her days helping to care for her two grandchildren that she loved dearly.

Rita is survived by a daughter, Ashley M. Peterson and son-in-law Calyn R. Peterson of Perryville, MD; grandchildren, Vincent R. Peterson and Isaac R. Peterson of Perryville, MD; brother, Everett E. Jackson of Elkton, MD.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by two brothers, Robert and Allen Jackson; two sisters, Barbara and Bonnie Jackson.

A beautiful, wonderful and kind heart has stopped beating, but a heart that has touched so many lives can’t help but live on in those it loved. I love you so so so much, forever and always Mom; until we meet again.

A funeral service/viewing will be held Saturday March 15, 2025 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Lee A. Patterson and Son Funeral Home with Pastor Sam Hall officiating. Interment will follow at St. Mark’s Cemetery in Perryville at 1 p.m. After interment, the family welcomes you to a celebration of life for Rita that will be held at Ashley’s home address of 802 Susquehanna Ave, Perryville, MD. Food and refreshments will be served. Please bring a dish to share if you would like.
