Robert Clayborne Cole, Sr.

Robert Clayborne Cole, Sr, 89 years, of Rising Sun, MD, passed away Wednesday, September 26, 2018 in the Christiana Hospital of Newark, DE. Born April 15, 1929 in Pilottown, PA, he was the son of the late George and Verner Troxel Cole. Mr. Cole was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was formerly employed for over 30 years as a sewing machine mechanic by the Fawn Grove Sewing Factory of Fawn Grove, PA. He was a member of the Conowingo Baptist Church of Conowingo, MD. Mr. Cole is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Virginia Cole of Rising Sun, MD; Robert C. Cole Jr. and wife, Eva, of Whiteford, MD; daughters, Judy Valenzuela and husband, Richard, of Autaugaville, AL, Darla Snyder and husband, Johnny, of Port Deposit, MD, Candace Absher and husband, Raymond, of Drumore, PA; 9 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandson; brothers Roy Cole and Kenneth Cole; and sister, Doris Groff. Mr. Cole was preceded in death by his brothers, Raymond Cole and Charles Cole. Our family would like to express their gratitude to Carol, our father's special caregiverr. Funeral services are scheduled for Thursday, October 4, 2018, 2 PM, at the Lee A. Patterson & Son Funeral Home, P.A., of Perryville, MD. Visitation for family and friends will be held Thursday, October 4, 2018, 12 Noon until 2 PM, at the funeral home prior to the funeral service. Pastor Jonathan Oyler of the Faith Community Chapel of Delta, PA, will officiate. Interment will private.
