Robert W. Jackson, Sr.

Robert William Jackson, Sr., age 82, died Monday, October 15, 2012, at his home in Berlin.  Born in Havre de Grace, MD, he was the son of the late Sterling Jackson and Mildred Walker Jackson.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Louise Etien Jackson in 2008. He is survived by his children: Suzanne Jackson of Berlin, Robert W. Jackson, Jr. of Ocean City, Lisa Jackson Taylor and her husband Charles of Ocean City, and Michelle Jackson of Berlin. There are two grandchildren, Jordan Taylor of Ocean City, and Adrienne Reed and her husband Kenneth, of Berlin, and two great-grandchildren, Landon and Logan Reed. Also surviving is a brother, Charles Boyer of Bel Air, MD and a sister, Millicent V. Hall of Perryville, MD, sisters-in-law; Adrienne Marge Homsher of Lancaster, PA and Dina Wilcox of Seneca, SC.  There are numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Harry Jackson, and a sister, Lois Jackson Taylor. Mr. Jackson was an Army Veteran, and had been a professional firefighter with the Perry Point Veterans Administration Hospital in Perry Point MD.  He also served the Perryville Volunteer Fire Department, Station No. 6 for 58 years, and in addition, was a lifetime member.  He also was a life time member and Past Commander of the American Legion Post # 135 in Perryville, MD,  and a member of the Forty and Eight Grande Voiture du Maryland Locale 1371 in Cecil County. In lieu of flowers, a donation in his memory may be made to the Community Fire Company of Perryville, P.O. Box 776, Perryville, MD 21903. Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, October 19, 2012, 1 PM, at the Lee A. Patterson & Son Funeral Home, P.A., Perryville, MD. Friends and family may call one hour prior to the service.  Interment will follow in Hopewell Cemetery, Port Deposit, MD.
