Robert Bruce “Pat” Tome, Sr., 67 yrs, of Port Deposit, MD, died Thursday, November 10, 2011, in Christiana Hospital, Newark, DE. Born March 16, 1944, in Craigtown, MD, he was a son of the late S. K. “Doc” and Leah Bryson Tome.
Pat was a farmer, had also worked for Tawney’s Towing, R.L. Jackson, as well as the family business, Craigtown Auto. He was an avid NASCAR fan and supported Mark Martin.
Pat was a member of the Maryland Farm Bureau, Rough and Tumble Tractor Museum and the International Harvester Collector’s World Wide. He was also a Guinness World Record participant having take part in a record-setting Massey-Harris Tractor even in 2001.
Pat is survived by his wife, Carol Diffenderfer Tome of Port Deposit, MD; children, Robert B. Tome, Jr., of Virginia, Anthony Dale Tome and Timothy Edward Tome both of Wisconsin; step-children, Thomas Ray Mulligan of Elkton, MD, Cynthia Blakeley of North East, MD, Lori Mitchell and Christopher Gomez both of Port Deposit, MD; six grandchildren; nine step-grandchildren; 12 step-great grandchildren; siblings, Raymond Dale Tome, Richard Craig Tome, Ralph Vincent Tome, Samuel R. “Randy” Tome, Ruth Ann Stanley; and extended family, Shirley Himes of Havre de Grace, MD, Deborah Rosenkrans of Colora, MD, Bill Diffenderfer of Ohio, and Jack Rosenkrans.
In addition to his parents, Pat was preceded in death by his brother, R. Wayne Tome, Sr.

Funeral services are scheduled for Tuesday, November 15, 2011, 2 PM, at the Lee A. Patterson & Son Funeral Home, P.A., Perryville, MD. Visitation for family and friends will be held Tuesday, November 15, 2011, 12 Noon until 2 PM, prior to the funeral service at the funeral home. Pastor David Byrkit of Blythedale Seventh Day Adventist Church of Perryville, MD, will officiate. Interment will be in Asbury Cemetery, Port Deposit, MD.
