Ruth Jackson Childs, 95, of Charlotte died Monday, May 14, 2012. A graveside service will be held 1:00 P.M. Saturday, May 19, 2012, at Principio Cemetery, Perryville, MD. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Lee A. Patterson & Son Funeral Home, Perryville, MD. Ruth was born May 7, 1917, in Principio Furnace, MD to the late Absalom Eli and Eva Reynolds Jackson. She was a graduate of Pierce School of Business and worked as a legal secretary for 32 years. In addition, she was the secretary to the Phi Sigma Kappa fraternity headquarters in Upper Darby, PA for six years. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her husband, Robert William Childs, Sr., and her son, Robert William Childs, Jr. Ruth is survived by her daughter, Beverly Childs Pingenot, her grandchildren: Elizabeth Childs Pingenot and James Alexander Pingenot of Charlotte, NC., Robert William Childs, III and wife Michelle of Blue Springs, MO, and P.J. Childs and wife Wendy of Ellensburg, WA, and great-grandchildren: Megan Childs, Drew Childs of Blue Springs , MO, and Cole Childs, Sage Childs, Shannon Childs, Joseph Childs, Zephaniah Childs of Ellensburg, WA.
