Ruth Elizabeth (Devault) Snelling

Ruth Elizabeth Snelling, 87 yrs, of Perryville, MD, died Sunday, September 13, 2015 in Harford Memorial Hospital of Havre de Grace, MD. Born September 8, 1928 in Moundsville, WVA, she was the daughter of the late John Edward and Florence Viola Edwards DeVault. Mrs. Snelling is survived by her husband, John “Jack” C. Snelling of Perryville, MD; sons, John W. Snelling of North East, MD, and Timothy W. Snelling of Perryville, MD; daughters, Donna E. Dixon of Havre de Grace, MD, and Jacqueline G. Shoemaker of Perryville, MD; 11 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; sister, Margaret McCormick, Bellaire, OH; and step-brother, Samuel Sumey of Crabapple, OH. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Snelling was preceded in death by her daughter, Nona Lynn Snelling; five brothers, and four sisters. Funeral services are scheduled for Thursday, September 17, 2015, 11 AM, at the Lee A. Patterson & Son Funeral Home, P.A., Perryville, MD. Visitation for family and friends will be held Thursday, September 17, 2015, 10 AM until 11 AM, at the funeral home prior to the funeral service. Pastor Michael A. Caldwell of Asbury United Methodist Church of Port Deposit, MD, will officiate. Interment will be in Asbury Cemetery, Port Deposit, MD.
