Shirley Adams

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Shirley Adams, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend, who left us on February 19, 2025. Shirley’s warmth, kindness, and unwavering love for her family will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Born in West Chester, PA, Shirley lived a life filled with compassion, strength, grace and spunk. She was a devoted wife and mother who always put her family first, offering endless love, wisdom, and support. Her generosity and kind spirit touched the lives of so many, and she had a way of making everyone feel at home in her presence.

Shirley is survived by her husband, Rodney Adams, daughter, Beth King, son, Scott Adams (Marcia), sister, Dorothy Lewis, grandchildren, Derek (Jayme), Thomas (Sawyer), Benjamin, Amber (Nadine), Nicole (Blake), and great grandchildren, Declan, Tobias, Emilia, and Abigail, who will carry forward her legacy of love and kindness. She was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Blevins and son-in-law, Mark King.

A service to honor and celebrate Shirley’s life will be held Tuesday, February 25, 2025, 12 Noon, at Mount Pleasant Church, 1713 Liberty Grove Road, Colora, MD. Visitation for family and friends will be held Tuesday, February 25, 2025, 10 AM until 12 Noon, at the church prior to the funeral service. Pastor Dr. David Burke of Mount Pleasant Church will officiate. Interment will be in the Conowingo Baptist Church Cemetery, Conowingo, MD.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Ronald McDonald House in her memory in care of Lee A. Patterson & Son Funeral Home, P.A., P.O. Box 766, Perryville, MD 21903-0766.

Though she may be gone, Shirley’s love and light will remain in our hearts forever.
