Steven E. Giles, Sr.

Steven E. Giles Sr., age 70, of Perryville, MD, passed away peacefully Sunday, July 15, 2018 at home surrounded by family.  He was the husband of Donna J. Giles. He was born at Harford Memorial Hospital in Havre de Grace, MD, the son of the late Frances E. and Nancy Reeder Giles. Steven was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served in Germany during the Vietnam War.  He retired from Amtrak of Perryville after 30 years of service as a Bridge Operator and was currently working in Security at Hollywood Casino, Perryville. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children Steven E. Giles Jr. of Perryville, MD, Scott A. Giles Sr. of Conowingo, MD, Christina M. Giles-Bader of Wilmington, DE; step-daughter, Terry Schmitz of Elkton, MD;  Eight grandchildren, two brothers, Frances Giles of Middle River, MD and Mark Giles of Andersen, SC and two sisters, Sandra Adams of Broadnax, VA and Theresa McBride of Hayes, VA. Steve loved working in the yard, traveling, and feeding birds in the front yard.  He also enjoyed watching sports on TV and spending time with his family. Services will be held Friday, July 20, 2018.  Visitation from 10:00 -12:00 Noon at the Lee A. Patterson & Son Funeral Home, in Perryville, MD. Pastor Michael A.Caldwell of Wesley UMC of Elkton will officiate.  Interment will be at the Principio Cemetery Perryville. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Amedisys Hospice Foundation in care of Lee A. Patterson & Son Funeral Home, P.A., P.O Box 766, Perryville, MD  21903-0766.
