Thomas A. Breslin

Thomas A. Breslin, known as “Tom” to friends and family, age 73, of Port Deposit, MD, passed away on Friday, 08 January 2016 at home surrounded by his loving family. Tom was born in Wilmington, DE, to the late James and Clara Breslin. Tom served four years active duty in the United States Marine Corps plus two years in the Reserves and was a respected carpenter/contractor for 50 years. Tom enjoyed construction, camping, hunting, gardening, and spending time with family. He is survived by his wife, Katherine Breslin; a son, Thomas Breslin; three daughters, Clara Fairchild (Joe), Patricia Holman, and Katherine Poiesz (Eric); seven grandchildren, Vincent Breslin (Mary), Kayla Toole, Joseph and Chad Petroulis, and Daniel, Nicholas, and Rebecca Holman; and four great-grandchildren, Charlianne, Aubrey, Myra, and Adrianna Breslin; two sisters, Sarah Lanouette and Elizabeth Whitfield (Eugene); two brothers, Charles and William Breslin; and a sister-in-law, Anita Breslin. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Patrick (Carol), Peter, and James (Jean) Breslin; and a sister-in-law, Naomi Breslin. In lieu of flowers, family suggests contributions to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, P.O. Box 1893, Memphis, TN 38101-9950. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Friday, 15 January 2016, 1 PM, at Good Shepherd Catholic Church of Perryville, MD. Visitation for family and friends will be held Friday, 15 January 2016, 11 AM until 1 PM, at the church. Father Jay McKee of Good Shepherd Parish will officiate. A graveside service is scheduled for Monday, 25 January 2016, 12 Noon , at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Bear, DE.
