Vonzella Denise Wright, age 66, of Perryville, MD, departed this life on Thursday, July 27, 2023. Born February 12, 1957 in Baltimore, MD, she was the daughter of the late Dorothy Ann Brown and step-father, Alexander Griffin.
Vonzella “Kimmy” Wright was a graduate of Perryville High School. She was employed as a Medication Technician and Certified Nursing Assistant with the Broad Manor Assisted Living. Vonzella was a dedicated healthcare worker for 40 years.
Vonzella was a loving and caring mother and grandmother. In her younger years, she enjoyed socializing and conversing with her family, friends, children, and grandchildren. Her favorite football team was the Baltimore Ravens and her most loved televisions shows were Power and Blue Bloods.
Vonzella is survived by her children, Angela Marie Wright, Dale David Watson, Jr. (Tina), and Alicia Ann Jackson (Jason Lintmer); life partner, Gary Allen Jackson; grandchildren, Jalica, Ja-Vontae “Tae”, Mercedes, De’Jon, Ja’mire, Destiny, Dale III, Dante, Chante, Gianna, and Carter; great grandchildren, Nylah Meadows, Sincere Meadows, Amiyah J. Wright, Ja-Vontae R. Wright, Jr., Javionn R. Wright, Arielle Hadry; sister, Cathy P. Griffin; brothers, Tyrone Brown, Antoine N. Griffin (Carmen), Larry Griffin, all of Elkton, MD; nephews, Antonie (Boozy) Levar Griffin and Tony Alexander; great niece, Tareigh Griffin; great-nephews, Taizier Griffin, Tayvin Griffin, and Tony Alexander Griffin, Jr.; aunt, Florence Pennington Boddy; first-cousins, Felicia Jones, Monica Porsey-Smith, and Cynthia Epps, all of Baltimore, MD; and close friends, Sandra Cain and the late Christina Fields.
In addition to her parents, Vonzella was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Jasimine; best friend, Christina Fields; cousins, Michael L. Dorsey and Venetia Dorsey-Rice; and her little dog, Poncho.
Funeral Services are scheduled for Friday, August 11, 2023, 7 PM, at the Lee A. Patterson & Son Funeral Home, P.A., Perryville, MD. Visitation for family and friends will be held Friday, August 11, 2023, 6 PM until 7 PM, at the funeral home prior to the funeral service. Interment will be private.
