Walter Blakeley

Walter Blakeley, 78 yrs, of Port Deposit, MD, died Saturday, April 20, 2013 at his residence.  Born January 25, 1935 in Harford County, MD, he was the son of the late Oliver and Elsie Curry Blakeley. Mr. Blakeley was retired from the Harford County Board of Education and had also worked for Henkels & McCoy and General Cable. He was a veteran of the United States Army having served from 1957 until 1963. Mr. Blakeley is survived by his wife, June Irene Walstrum Blakeley of Port Deposit, MD; son, Jeffrey Walter Blakeley of Colora, MD; step-sons, Willard Steele, John Peart, James Peart; daughters, Jeanie Christine Bowman of Conowingo, MD, Kathy Lanius and Denise Pierce both of Port Deposit, MD, Melanie Brooks of Rising Sun, MD; step-daughter, Theresa Kay Jackson of Rising Sun, MD; 16 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; brother, Wilbur Blakeley; sisters, Mabel Slate and Ruth Shires. In addition to his parents, Mr. Blakeley was preceded in death by his brothers, Lewis Blakeley, Marion Blakeley, Earl Blakeley, Harold Blakeley, Raymond Blakeley; sisters, Annabelle Yates, Edna Sprout, Ada Adams, Bert Spencer and Helen Burkins. Funeral services are scheduled for Wednesday, April 24, 2013, 1 PM, at the Lee A. Patterson & Son Funeral Home, P.A., Perryville, MD. Visitation for family and friends will be held Wednesday, April 24, 2012, 11 AM until 1 PM, at the funeral home. Rev. Dr. Jay Bunting of Hopewell United Methodist Church, Port Deposit, MD.
