Walter “Jack” Hirleman, 69 years, of Perryville, MD, passed away Thursday, January 26, 2017 at his home in Perryville. Born September 20, 1947 in Hillside, NJ, he was the son of the late Charles and Agnes Butterfield Hirleman.
Jack attended Hillside High School during which time he met Lucille Pallitto. They married on September 20, 1969 in Irvington, NJ. For many years Jack was the owner/operator of his family’s Exxon Station in Hillside, NJ. He later became the Vice President of Berkshire Travel, working for 25 years alongside Lucille, the founder and President. Together they were both very active in the travel industry.
Jack is survived by his children, Charles Hirleman, Christa Hirleman, Stacey Smith and her husband, Dennis Smith; granddaughters, Hailey Panas and Madelyn Smith.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Knights of Columbus.
Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, March 11, 2017, 11 AM, at St. Thomas the Apostle Church of Oak Ridge, NJ. Father Matthew Twiggs will officiate.
