Waltraud "Wallie" G. (Gorrray) Buck

Waltraud G. “Wallie” Buck, of Perryville, formerly of Port Deposit, MD, died Friday, February 5, 2016, at Calvert Manor Nursing Home. Born in Sodingen, Germany, October 29, 1925, she was the daughter of the late August and Margarete Gorray. Wallie is predeceased by her loving husband of 61 years, Judge Walter E. Buck, Jr. Wallie immigrated to the United States with her family and settled in Baltimore, MD. She graduated from Western High School in Baltimore. She also graduated from Union Memorial Hospital Nursing School and went on to a career as a registered nurse. Wallie met her husband while working as a registered nurse at Union Memorial Hospital and he a law student at the University of Maryland in the late 1940s. After moving to Port Deposit with Walter, she became a public health nurse for Cecil County. Wallie was a devoted and loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed playing bridge with her friends, bird watching and traveling with her husband. Wallie is survived by her sister, Ruth Sanford, of Sebastopol, CA; sons, Walter E. Buck III and John H. Buck and companion Nancy Dixon of Perryville, MD; grandsons Frank Buck and James Buck of Port Deposit, MD; nieces, Sigrid Rainer of Livermore, CA, and Kristen Rajca of Muncy, IN; nephews, Brian Sanford of Center Harbor, NH, Roland Sanford of Santa Rosa, CA, and Colin Sanford of Atkinson, NH. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Perryville Presbyterian Church in care of Lee A. Patterson & Son Funeral Home, P.A., P.O. Box 766, Perryville, MD, 21903-0766. Private services will be held at West Nottingham Presbyterian Church.
