Wendalyn “Wendy” Carol Dubree Brown, 71 years, of Perryville, MD, passed away peacefully at home Saturday, March 28, 2026. Born August 27, 1954 in Havre de Grace, MD, she was the daughter of the late Robert “Buck” Arthur, Sr., and Oleta May Deckman Dubree.
Wendy was a member of the Hopewell United Methodist Church of Havre de Grace, MD, the Youth Choir, MFY Leader, Sunday School Leader, Sunday School Superintendent, Lay Leader, Women’s Society UWF, Power Point Maker, Director of Children’s Education, Worship Committee, and Bible School Staff.
Wendy was a recipient of the Boy Scouts Silver Beaver Award, District Award of Merit, District Key, and Commissioner’s Key. She was a Boy Scout Troop Leader, Cub Scout Den Leader, Den Leader Coach, Pack Committee Chairman, Pack Trainer – Packs No. 333 and No. 555, Troop Committee Chairman and Treasurer – Troops No. 144 and No. 555, Advancement Chairman – Troop No. 555, Unit Commissioner, Cub Roundtable Commissioner, District Membership Chairman, District Activities Co-Chairman, District Training Staff, Day Camp and Pow Wow Staff, Cub and Me Day Camp Program Director, and Merit Badge Counselor.
In addition, Wendy was a Girl Scout, 4-H Club Member, and member of the Ladies Auxiliary to Jerry Skrivanek V.F.W. Post No. 8185 of Port Deposit where she served as Patriotic Instructor, Chairman of the Voice of Democracy, and Chairman of the Patriots Pen Scholarship Program.
Wendy is survived by her loving husband of 51 years, Jerry W. Brown; sons, Jason Matthew Brown and Joshua Mark Brown; four grandchildren, Faith, Alex, Zoey, and Ryliegh; and sister, Ellen Irene Childress.
In addition to her parents, Wendy was preceded in death by her brother, Robert Arthur Dubree, Jr., and sister, Linda Roberta Sapp.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Hopewell United Methodist Church in care of Lee A. Patterson & Son Funeral Home, P.A., P.O. Box 766, Perryville, MD 21903-0766.
Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, April 4, 2026, 12 Noon, at the Hopewell United Methodist Church, 3600 Level Village Road, Havre de Grace, MD. Visitation for family and friends will be held Saturday, April 4, 2026, 10 AM until 12 Noon, at the church prior to the funeral service. Pastor Deirdre Duda of the Hopewell United Methodist Church will officiate. Interment will be in Bel Air Memorial Gardens, Bel Air, MD.
