William “Bill” Edward Fazio, 78 years, of Havre de Grace, MD, formerly 42 years of Port Deposit, MD, passed away Saturday, September 20, 2025 in the University of Maryland Upper Chesapeake Medical Center of Bel Air, MD. Born June 14, 1947 in Brooklyn, NY, he was the son of the late William Edward, Sr., and Dorothy Henderson Fazio.
Bill was a graduate of Ryken High School of Leonardtown, MD, and received his BA from The Catholic University of America. Bill entered The Congregation of St. Francis Xavier (Xaverian Brothers) at age 17 taking the name of Brother Franciscus. Upon completion of college, he taught for several years at Mount St. Joseph of Baltimore, MD.
After leaving the Brothers before final vows, Bill taught at The Catholic High School of Baltimore, MD. He entered State employment first as a social worker in Anne Arundel County and then as a Juvenile Services Probation Officer in Cecil County for over 30 years. Currently, Bill was working for the Cecil County Health Department in Medical Transportation.
Bill was an active member of the Church of the Good Shepherd Parish in Perryville attending St. Teresa of Avila Church in Port Deposit. Bill served several terms on the Liturgy Committee, Parish Council, taught Religious Education and was a Eucharist Minister, Lector, and a member of the Friends of St. Teresa.
Bill was an enthusiastic sports fan loving his New York Giants and Yankees and season ticket holder for the Ironbirds.
Bill is survived by his loving wife of 14 years, Anne Bollinger Fazio; children, Jennifer Hubbert (JJ) of Federalsburg, MD, Arthur R. Barker, III, Coeur d’ Alene, ID, and Sarah Marshall (Brandon) of Mount Pleasant, SC; and granddaughter, Jocelynn Hubbert.
In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his first wife, Kathleen Hamby Fazio, and sister, Geraldine Fazio Hope.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Friends of St. Teresa and the St. Vincent de Paul Society Food Pantry in care of Lee A. Patterson & Son Funeral Home, P.A., P.O. Box 766, Perryville, MD 21903-0766.
A Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for Friday, September 26, 2025, 11 AM, at the Good Shepherd Catholic Church of Perryville, MD. Visitations for family and friends will be held Thursday, September 25, 2025, 2 PM until 4 PM, and 6 PM until 8 PM, at the Lee A. Patterson & Son Funeral Home, P.A., of Perryville, MD. Father Jasper of the Immaculate Conception Church of Elkton will officiate. Interment will be in West Nottingham, Colora, MD.
