William Lewis Hathaway

William Lewis Hathaway, 76 yrs, of Havre de Grace. MD, died Thursday, April 4, 2013 at his residence.  Born February 28, 1937 in Rock Springs, MD, he was the son of the late Lewis and Alice Riffey Hathaway. Mr. Hathaway was employed as a crane operator by Lock Joint of Perryman, MD. He is survived by his loving wife of 41 yrs, Marian Brown Hathaway of Havre de Grace, MD; sons, Christopher Hathaway of Havre de Grace, MD, Frank Salerno of Baltimore, MD,  Michael Hoglund of Laurel, MD, Dr. Edward Hoglund of Merritt Island, FL, Joseph Hoglund of Rising Sun, MD; nine grandchildren; three great grandchildren; brother, Robert Hathaway of Ft. Largo, FL; and sister, Betty Slicer of Palm Bay, FL. Mr. Hathaway enjoyed NASCAR racing, dirt cars, and crabbing. He also loved spending time with his grandchildren, family and friends. In addition to his parents, Mr. Hathaway was preceded in death by his daughter, Anja Izzo. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association in care of Lee A. Patterson & Son Funeral Home, P.A., P.O. Box 766, Perryville, MD 21903-0766. Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, April 13, 2013, 11 AM, at the Lee A. Patterson & Son Funeral Home, P.A., Perryville, MD. Visitation for family and friends will be held Friday, April 12, 2013, 5 PM until 8 PM, at the funeral home. Deacon Joe Izzo will officiate.
