William Clarence Hawkins

William Clarence Hawkins, 95 years, of Perryville, MD, passed away Friday, October 26, 2018 at home. Born July 13, 1923 in Bucks County, PA, he was the son of the late Charles Wilsey and Ida Eugenia Lily Hawkins. Mr. Hawkins was formerly employed as a truck driver by Friendly Oil Company/Phillips 66 of Havre de Grace, MD. He is survived by his son, William C. Hawkins and wife, Barbara, of Lutz, FL; daughters, Patricia A. Detardo of Havre de Grace, MD, A. Rebecca Ellis and husband, Dan, of Perryville, MD, Julie I. Engle and husband, Allan, of St. Augustine, FL, and Melissa D. Stocktill and husband, Ronald, of Havre de Grace, MD; 16 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; brother, Clarence Hawkins; sisters, Daisy West, Sarah Cowan and Vera Elliott; and numerous loving nieces and nephews. Mr. Hawkins was preceded in death by his first wife, Alice P. Hamilton Hawkins, and second wife, Claudia M. Mabe Hawkins; son, Edward F. Hawkins; two grandchildren, Jacob B. Engle and Kaitlin P. Hawkins; brothers, Charles E. Hawkins, Robert H. Hawkins, Frank Hawkins, Harold L. Hawkins and George Hawkins. Mr. Hawkins was an individual who touched so many lives with his kind and gentle demeanor. His strong unshakable faith in God has always been an inspiration to many. He will be missed beyond words. Funeral services are scheduled for Thursday, November 1, 2018, 12 Noon, at the Lee A. Patterson & Son Funeral Home, P.A., of Perryville, MD. Visitation for family and friends will be held Thursday, November 1, 2018, 11 AM until 12 Noon, at the funeral home. Cole Hawkins, a certified lay speaker, of Rock Run Methodist Church of Have de Grace, MD, will officiate   Interment will be in Harford Memorial Gardens, Aberdeen, MD.
