A. June (Doss) Johnson

A. June Johnson, 89 years, of Port Deposit, MD, passed away Friday, September 15, 2023 at home. Born November 5, 1933 in Rustburg, VA, she was the daughter of the late John W. and Mary Alice Moses Doss.

June was a member of the Pleasant View Baptist Church of Port Deposit, MD. Her life can be summed up by her love for Jesus and desire to obey and glorify Him. Proverbs 31 describes her life: (10) Who can find a virtuous wife? For her worth is far above rubies. (11) The heart of her husband safely trusts her. (25) Strength and honor are her clothing; she shall rejoice in time to come. (26) She opens her mouth with wisdom, and on her tongue is the law of kindness. (27) She watches over her household, and does not eat the bread of idleness. (28) Her children rise up and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her. (30) Charm is deceitful and beauty is passing, but a woman who fears the Lord she shall be praised.

June is survived by her sons, Randy Johnson and wife, Ellen, Jeffrey Johnson and wife, Regina, Andrew Johnson and wife, Jeannie, and Mark Johnson; seven grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; and brother, Bill Doss.

In addition to her parents, June was preceded in death by her husband, James S. Johnson; brother, John W. Doss, Jr.; and sister, Jane Williams.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Pleasant View Baptist Church in care of Lee A. Patterson & Son Funeral Home, P.A., P.O. Box 766, Perryville, MD 21903-0766.

Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, September 22, 2023, 12 Noon, at the Pleasant View Baptist Church of Port Deposit, MD. Visitation for family and friends will be held Friday, September 22, 2023, 10 AM until 12 Noon, at the church prior to the funeral service. Pastor Dr. Harold Phillips of the Pleasant View Baptist Church will officiate. Interment will be in Principio Cemetery, Perryville, MD.
