Betty Lou (Grant) Bulgin

Betty Lou Bulgin, 92 years, of Conowingo, MD, passed onto Glory Friday, October 29, 2021 at the Calvert Manor Center for Rehabilitation and Healthcare of Rising Sun, MD.

Born June 19, 1929 she was the daughter of the late Walter St. Clair and Marjorie Alexander Grant. 

Betty was a 1947 graduate of the former Jacob Tome Institute of Port Deposit, MD. She was formerly employed by Mt Ararat Farms of Port Deposit, MD, where she met her husband, Ray. They were married and Betty became a homemaker and loving mother to their only son, Joe. Betty loved being a mother and raising Joe.

Betty was “Wonderful and MAHVELOUS!”, words she used many times.  She loved everybody SO MUCH! She adored Dr. Joseph Weidner and his staff.

Prior to Covid, Betty volunteered at the Calvert Manor Center where she loved being around the people and making each person feel good with a special greeting. She worked bingo and other activities, whatever Jeanette Reynolds and Beth Stallard needed. She loved the music programs at Calvert, Nottingham Four, and John Kanes and others preaching. She looked forward to going to lunch with the Calvert Lunch Bunch, a highlight of her month. Betty was the record keeper, keeping track of who attended each month.

Betty loved crab cakes, going for rides around Port Deposit and other country places, and talking about her memories growing up.

Betty is survived by her niece, Betsy Cameron; nephew, David Fry; three great nieces; one great-great nephew; and brother-in-law, Everett Bulgin of Ontario, Canada.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband, A. Ray; son, Joseph; sister, Ann Marie Fry; brothers, Walter St. Clair Grant, Jr. and Charles Edward Grant. 

We will miss our Betty Lou, Betty Boop, and Betty Bulg IN, not out

A graveside service has been scheduled for Wednesday, November 3, 2021, 1 PM, at the Hopewell United Methodist Church Cemetery, 1811 Hopewell Rd., Port Deposit, MD.
