Dorothy Jean (May) Edwards

Dorothy Jean Edwards, 85 years, of Port Deposit, MD, formerly of Havre de Grace, MD, passed away Sunday, October 15, 2023 at home. Born October 12, 1938 in Pennsylvania she was the daughter of the late Emanuel Hamilton and Myrtle Blanche May Dudeck.

Dorothy is survived by her loving husband of 51 years, Raiford Norwood Edwards; children, Reba Muthard, Serena Underwood, Jeffery Pangburn, and Jason Edwards; seven grandchildren; six great grandchildren; brothers, John May, Norman May, David May and Randall May; sisters, Betty Zellman, Carol Beavers, Paula Rice, Pamelia Barranco, and Teresa Bond; as well as nieces and nephews.

Dorothy was a very loving and proud mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a former Sunday school teacher and mission teacher.

In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by her grandson, Michael Pangburn; brothers, Emanuel May, Jr., and Paul May; and sister, Charlotte May Barker.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in care of Lee A. Patterson & Son Funeral Home, P.A., P.O. Box 766, Perryville, MD 21903-0766.

Graveside services are scheduled for Thursday, October 19, 2023, 11 AM, at Harford Memorial Gardens of Aberdeen, MD. Pastor Jeffrey L. Ellwood of the Evangel Assembly of God of Aberdeen, MD, will officiate.
