George David Wayne Cox

George David Wayne Cox, 58, of Colora, Maryland, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, November 2, 2023, surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Christine Cox, with whom he celebrated their 36th wedding anniversary in June 2023.

Born on March 3, 1965, in Havre de Grace, Maryland, he was the son of Judy (Langston) Cox and the late George Wayne Cox. He will be dearly missed by his four children: Courtney, wife of Lewis Erbe; Clayton, husband of Holly; Lily, fiance to Victor Bowden, and Isabella. He was a beloved Pappy to his 7 grandchildren: Hattie, Ashby, Cohen, Lottie, Rhett, Adley and Graham.

He is survived by his two sisters, Deborah Taylor and her husband John and Terry Twitchell and her husband Wyn. He is also survived by his in-laws Joseph and Patricia Craig, and his dog Tillie; as well as numerous nieces and nephews who loved their Uncle Davey. He will also be sadly missed by his aunts, uncles and cousins.

David graduated from Rising Sun High School in 1984. In 1987, he married his high school sweetheart, Chrisy, and together they started building their household of faith. He adored his family and never missed an opportunity to share how proud he was of them. Through the years they loved creating many family traditions.

He enjoyed a successful career as a Master Electrician and was highly esteemed for his workmanship. He was currently employed by AUI Power. David was known for his hard work, attention to detail, generous spirit and love for his country.

Most importantly, David's greatest passion in life was his unwavering devotion to his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He was a long-term, active member at Pleasant View Baptist Church, and he leaves a legacy of faith.

A celebration of David’s life will begin with visitation on Thursday, November 9, 2023 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Pleasant View Baptist Church in Port Deposit, Maryland. Please join us as we continue celebrating his life on Friday, November 10, 2023 with visitation beginning at 10:00 am and his service starting at 11:00 am also at the church. He will be laid to rest at West Nottingham Cemetery in Colora, Maryland. Dr. Harold Phillips will officiate.

There will be an opportunity at the service to share a memory of David.
