Ida Frances Seidenzahl (nee Willumsen) of Gettysburg, PA, was called to her heavenly home on March 7, 2024 at the Lorien Long‑Term Care facility in Taneytown. She was 97 years old and a long-time resident of Port Deposit, MD.
Born April 9, 1926 in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late Frank C. Willumsen, Sr. and Ida F. Willumsen (nee Tudor). Mrs. Seidenzahl is survived by two sons, Melvin G. Seidenzahl, Jr. (and his wife Joyce) of Hanover, PA, and Paul F. Seidenzahl of Myrtle Beach, SC; her daughter-in-law Mary Louise Seidenzahl, of Perry Hall, MD; her grandchildren, Paul F. Seidenzahl, Jr., Kristen Hunt (Stephen), Jeffrey Seidenzahl (Emily), and Michael Beatty (Jessica); her ten great-grandchildren, six great-great-grandchildren, eight nephews and two nieces.
She is predeceased by her husband, Melvin G. Seidenzahl, Sr. (1993); her son, Todd A. Seidenzahl (1995); her brothers, Frank C. Willumsen, Jr., William Willumsen, and Robert (“Bunky”) Willumsen; her sisters, Alois Beatty and Conchita Wyatt; and her loving companion, Eugene C. Coman.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association in care of Lee A. Patterson & Son Funeral Home, P.A., P.O. Box 766, Perryville, MD 21903-0766.
A visitation will be held Saturday, March 16, 2024, 10 AM until 11:30 AM, at the Lee A. Patterson & Son Funeral Home, P.A., 1493 Clayton Street, Perryville, MD, 21903. A memorial service will follow at the St. Mark's Episcopal Church of Perryville, MD, at 12 Noon. Mtr. Susan Oldfather of St. Mark's Episcopal Church will officiate. Interment will be in the St. Mark’s Episcopal Church Cemetery, Perryville, MD.
