James Austin Elliott

James Austin Elliott, 76 years, of Port Deposit, MD, passed away Wednesday, March 8, 2023. Born August 7, 1946 in Reed City, MI, he was the son of the late Kenneth Gordon and Dulcie Margueritte Coyne Elliott.

Jim was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served during the Vietnam War. He retired from the Solvay Company of Havre de Grace, MD, following 55 years of service.

Jim was an avid NASCAR fan and collector. During his retirement his physical health began to fail slowing him down, but he still loved mowing the lawn on the riding mower and being outdoors. He spent time on the computer playing card games and keeping charts on the stock market.

In his younger years, Jim loved fishing in his spare time with his children. His most loved and cherished times were at holidays with his children and family. He continued to keep up with events at the Solvay Company where both his sons now work.

Jim will be greatly missed by his family and his Bubbie Alex King. With age comes wisdom and many times change for the better. May God receive Jim and wipe away all his pain for the next chapter of his journey. We love you and your memory will always be in our hearts.

Jim is survived by his wife of 49 years, Susan H. Viars Elliott; sons, Jason L. Elliott and Kenneth J. Elliott; daughter, Lindy A. Elliott; three grandchildren; sisters, Becky Saucier and Gloria Hays.

Jim was preceded in death by his brother, Jerry Bordine.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, March 18, 2023, 2 PM until 5PM, at the Havre de Grace Elks Lodge No. 1564, 940 Pulaski Highway, Havre de Grace, MD.
