Jane Anne (Jones) Moore

Jane Anne Moore, 67 was born September 25, 1952 in Port Deposit, Maryland to the late Robert and Addie Griffin Jones. She departed this life on Friday, May 01, 2020 at University of Maryland Harford Memorial Hospital in Havre De Grace, Maryland. She received her education from Port Deposit Colored School and Perryville High School in Perryville, Maryland. As a teen, Jane played baseball, basketball and sang in a band known as The Jackson Ensembles.

Jane worked at Bainbridge Naval Training Center and later retired from the Harford County Detention Center after 20 years of service in 2008. During her leisure time, Jane was an active member of VFW Post 8185, and also loved bingo, singing hymns, watching soap operas, taking care of family, and chatting with her sisters.  She was frequently called on to sing at events such as parties, weddings, and many home going ceremonies in the community.

Jane was raised in the church and attended Bethel A.M.E. as a young woman. She studied to become an evangelist overseen by Bishop Claude Waldon. She was later affiliated with First Baptist Church of Port Deposit.

She lived to make people laugh and smile. Making friends wherever she went. Family meant everything to her.

Jane is preceded in death by her parents Robert and Addie Griffin Jones; brothers, Oscar, Wayman, Charles, Edward, and Lawrence Jones; sisters, Delores, Stella, Mary and Rachel Cason.

She will lovingly be remembered by daughters, Lisa Foran of Elkton, Maryland and Whitney Potter of Port Deposit, Maryland; grandchildren, Amaya Foran, Alaina Foran and Ryan Foran Jr.; son-in-law Ryan Foran Sr.; brothers, Robert Jones Jr. and Clarence Jones; sisters, Shirley Jones and Doris Clark; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.
