Joan Dorothea Bryan, 90 years, of Port Deposit, MD, passed away Tuesday, February 13, 2024 in the Bob Hooper House Hospice of Forrest Hill, MD. Born February 21, 1933 in New York, NY, she was the daughter of the late William and Johanna Unger Hoeppner.
Mrs. Bryan was a member of the former Tome Memorial United Methodist Church of Port Deposit, MD, the Ladies Auxiliary to the Fleet Reserve Association, the Ladies Auxiliary to the Rising Sun American Legion Post No. 194, and the Young at Heart of Havre de Grace, MD.
Mrs. Bryan was formerly employed as a secretary on Wall Street, NY, NY, a secretary at the former U.S. Naval Training Center of Bainbridge, MD, and more recently, Mrs. Bryan was a teacher’s aide for 21 years at the Bainbridge Elementary School of Port Deposit, MD.
Mrs. Bryan is survived by her sons, Richard McMahon, William Bryan, and James Bryan; daughter, Darlene Scarlato; ten grandchildren; nine great grandchildren.
Mrs. Bryan was preceded in death by her loving husband, Samuel Frazier Bryan, and also her first husband, Robert McMahon.

Funeral services are scheduled for Tuesday, February 20, 2024, 12 Noon, at the Lee A. Patterson & Son Funeral Home, P.A., of Perryville, MD. Visitation for family and friends will be held Tuesday, February 20, 2024, 10 AM until 12 Noon, at the funeral home prior to the funeral service. Rev. Greg Alsbrooks of the Bel Air Church of the Nazarene of Bel Air, MD, will officiate. Interment will be in West Nottingham Cemetery, Colora, MD.
