Joseph Pierce Obituary

Joseph Franklin Pierce, 75 years, of Conowingo, MD, passed away Tuesday, March 14, 2023 at home. Born March 2, 1948 in Havre de Grace, MD, he was the son of the late Issac Edward Pierce and Stella Mae McCall Reynolds.

Mr. Pierce was formerly employed by the Lincoln University of Pennsylvania. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Ethel Mae Pierce; daughters, Sherri Lynn Ratliff and Debbie Sue Sewell and husband, Robert, Sr.; grandchildren, Adam J. Ratliff, Steven C. Ratliff, Stephanie L. Ratliff, Robert A. Sewell, Jr., and Kristain M. Sewell; eleven great grandchildren; brother, Stanley Robert Pierce; and sister, Betty Jane Mick.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Pierce was preceded in death by his brothers, James Henry Pierce, Lawrence Edward Pierce, Edward Issac Pierce, and David Wayne Pierce; and sisters, Ruth Adeline Poff and May Louise Wright.

Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, March 18, 2023, 11 AM, at the Lee A. Patterson & Son Funeral Home, P.A., of Perryville, MD. Visitation for family and friends will be held Friday, March 17, 2023, 6 PM until 8 PM, at the funeral home. Pastor Dr. Harold Phillips of the Pleasant View Baptist Church of Port Deposit, MD, will officiate. Interment will be in Asbury Cemetery, Port Deposit, MD.
