Joseph White, Sr. Obituary

Joseph Lee White, Sr., 58 years, of North East, MD, passed away December 3, 2023 in the Christiana Hospital of Newark, DE. Born August 30, 1965 in New London, CT, he was the son of the late James D. and Lorraine M. Guba White.

Joe started his life’s journey in Philadelphia, PA. He told stories of walking to the corner store by himself when he was only 4 years old.  Joe later moved with his family to Rising Sun, MD, to live in an old farmhouse on Route One. He liked to go by the farmhouse every once in a while as he grew older just to reminisce about how he would play in the woods as a young boy and how he loved being outside exploring. The last time he visited that old farmhouse German Shepherd dogs were guarding the lane, and even though Joe had a love for dogs, he knew that might be his last time visiting that old farmhouse.

Joe graduated North East High School in 1983 where he attended the Cecil County Vo-Tech for welding. He was always the Magyver when it came to fixing things. Joe later joined the U.S. Army National Guard, was always very patriotic, and never worried about being politically correct. He loved his country and would no doubt fight for it at any given minute.

On August 2, 1991, Joe married his loving wife of 32 years, Darlene. Together they built a life and marriage honoring the importance of their wedding vows to love, honor, and cherish until the day Joe went to heaven.

Joe is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Darlene; sons, Joseph L. White, Jr., and Jacob Ryan White; five grandchildren, Ryan, Charlotte, Cora, Eric, and Tristan; brothers, James White, Randy White, Brian White, and Michael White; and sister, Donna Kelley.

In addition to his parents, Joe was preceded in death by his sister, Theresa White.

A visitation will be held Friday, December 15, 2023, 6 PM until 8 PM, at the Lee A. Patterson & Son Funeral Home, P.A., of Perryville, MD. Interment will be private.
