Judith Jean Chetelat (nee Cole) passed away at her home in Perryville MD, on February 2, 2023. “Painting Judi”, as she was known by her dear family and friends, was born on November 15, 1928 in Madison, PA, the third daughter and fifth child of James and Helga Cole.
Judy was a talented and passionate decorative arts painter who gave painting lessons in her home and freely gave away many of her works of art. She enjoyed making and sending greeting cards for holidays and birthdays, and she loved shopping at thrift, consignment, and antique stores.
Judy is survived by her daughters, Susan Kathleen Wooden, Amy Judith Chetelat, and Kimberly Anne Blackwell (Dennis), and daughter-in-law, Mary L. Plumley-Chetelat. She was proud of her loving family and will be greatly missed by her 9 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and her many other relatives and friends.
Judy was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Marshall Chetelat II; son, Joseph Marshall Chetelat III; her parents, James and Helga Cole; and siblings.

Funeral services are scheduled for Monday, February 6, 2023, 7 PM, at the Lee A. Patterson & Son Funeral Home, P.A., of Perryville, MD. Visitation for family and friends will be held Monday, February 6, 2023, 5 PM until 7 PM, at the funeral home prior to the funeral service. Rev. Jim Shuler of Paradise, PA, will officiate. Interment will be private.
