Marguerite Halpny Obituary

Marguerite Ruello Halpny, age 59 of Rising Sun, MD passed away on March 20th after a long battle with cancer. She was born in Jennersville, PA to the late Joseph N. Ruello and Josephine M. Ruello of Rising Sun, MD. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, David A. LeBrun. She is survived by her husband, James R. Halpny, Jr.; a son, Joshua A. LeBrun (wife Lindsey) and her granddaughter, the “Sunshine” of her life, Grace LeBrun. She is also survived by her siblings: Rose Greer of Newark, DE, Nick Ruello (companion Vickie McCardell) of Newark, DE, Antonia Pacitti (husband Steve) of Louden, TN; Joseph Ruello (fiancé; Nancy Steinmetz) of Rising Sun, MD; 10 nieces and nephews and 17 great nieces and nephews.

Marguerite was fortunate enough to be an “at home mom” and homeschooled her children until their high school years. She was a Tiger Cub Leader, Cub Scout Leader, and Committee member of both the Cub Scout Pack 143 and Boy Scout Troop 143, as well as Equipment Manager and Secretary of the R.S. Little League when her children were younger and playing baseball. She was a member of the Ravens Roost 119 for 3 years. She was employed at KBR in Newark, DE until her illness. She enjoyed time Stamping cards, crafts, sewing, cooking, watching sports and watching her kids/granddaughter play ball. She loved spending time with her husband, family and friends and looked forward to every minute with her granddaughter, Grace. She also enjoyed camping, boating, and fishing. She was very grateful for those who helped her through this long illness and prayed, visited, called, texted, sent flowers, food or gifts and encouraged her through the most difficult times.

A celebration of life where friends and family can pay tribute will be held on Tuesday, March 26 from 6pm-8 at Janes Church in Rising Sun, MD. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at Church of the Sacred Heart in Oxford, PA with the Rev. Joseph Shenosky officiating on Wednesday the 27th at 10am, mass will be proceeded by a eulogy from Toni Pacitti. Her burial will immediately follow at Brookview Cemetery in Rising Sun, MD. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the David A. LeBrun Memorial Fund in care of Lee A. Patterson & Son Funeral Home, P.A., P.O. Box 766, Perryville, MD 21903-0766.
