Marilyn Sue (Burlin) Bennett

Marilyn Sue Bennett, 79 years, of Perryville, MD, passed away Friday, February 10, 2023 in the University of Maryland Harford Memorial Hospital of Havre de Grace, MD. Born September 29, 1943 in Havre de Grace, MD, she was the daughter of the late Donald M., Sr., and Frances Hansel Burlin.

Marilyn was employed for more than 30 years as a Teaching Assistant at the Perryville High School, where she touched many a student's life and brought great joy. She was also a member of the Asbury United Methodist Church of Port Deposit, MD and the Ladies Auxiliary to the Susquehanna American Legion Post No. 135 of Perryville, MD.
Marilyn is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Dyer Bennett; son, Dyer "Mitch" Bennett; and brother, Donald M. Burlin, Jr.

Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, February 17, 2023, 11 AM, at the Lee A. Patterson & Son Funeral Home, P.A., of Perryville, MD. Visitation for family and friends will be held Thursday, February 16, 2023, 6 PM until 8 PM, at the funeral home. Pastor Michael A. Caldwell of the Asbury United Methodist Church of Port Deposit, MD, will officiate. Interment will be in Asbury Cemetery, Port Deposit, MD. A reception will be held for family and close friends immediately after the funeral at the Susquehanna American Legion Post 135 in Perryville.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to the Asbury United Methodist Church in her honor in care of Lee A. Patterson & Son Funeral Home, P.A., P.O. Box 766, Perryville, MD 21903-0766.
